Pilates in Beckenham & Weybridge 

  Pilates is a form of controlled movement by focusing on breathing, correct spinal and pelvic alignment. Engagement of the entire body allows efficient movement. Joseph Pilates invented Pilates in the early 20th century to help injured soldiers and dancers. Pilates improves body awareness by working on the mind body connection during body movements and breathing. Mat Pilates is a great way to strengthen the core muscles, lower back muscles  and hip muscles. It's a combination of exercises done on a mat without any equipment. It is an efficient way to improve the flexibility and posture of the body.

What to expect?

The only equipment you need for our Pilates in Beckenham classes is "You". Contrary to the reformer training with huge set of machines, mat pilates is a very simple form of an exercise that tones, strengthens and burns fat and boosts mental health.

Pilates is often used in conjunction with osteopathy especially for lower back pain management.  Apart from that, anyone looking for toning up muscles, building strength, stability and improving their body awareness can join the class. Pilates is suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels, from athletes to beginners. Pilates will focus on posture, stability and flexibility. Chances of injury are much lower than high impact workouts.
